The latest ETSA headlines

ETSA is proud to announce the renewal of its European Climate Pact Ambassadorship by DG CLIMA of the European Commission in 2026.
This renewed commitment recognises ETSA's continued efforts to promote circularity, climate action, and sustainable practices within the textile services sector. Through the work of its Environment and Sustainability Working Groups, ETSA and its members have contributed concrete actions supporting EU climate and circular economy objectives.
In 2025, ETSA strengthened evidence-based communication on the environmental benefits of textile rental and care services, highlighting the sector's contribution to climate mitigation and resource efficiency. Members shared best practices demonstrating circularity in action across the textile lifecycle: reducing water and energy consumption through innovative washing processes, extending product lifetimes through maintenance and repair, and advancing reuse, upcycling, and recycling initiatives. ♻️
The association also facilitated technical exchanges on key environmental challenges such as microplastics and PFAS, while contributing sector expertise to EU-level discussions and consultations linked to ecodesign, end-of-life textiles, sustainability benchmarking, and broader circular economy initiatives. In parallel, ETSA members collaborated on practical projects including water consumption benchmarking and value-chain mapping exercises to identify carbon hotspots and opportunities for emissions reduction.
The renewal of this Ambassadorship reflects the growing recognition of textile services as a climate-relevant and inherently circular sector. It also reinforces the importance of collaboration between industry stakeholders, policymakers, and the European Climate Pact community to accelerate practical and scalable sustainability solutions.
ETSA looks forward to continuing this engagement together with its members and partners in the years ahead.
