The Project "Educate!" Enters the final stretch!
ETSA in cooperation with its partners, HeurekaNet, the Textile Care Association of Belgium, the German Federation of Textile Care , the Laundry and Dry-Cleaning Association of the Czech Republic and the Swedish Textile Service Association have been working collectively in supporting the project "Educate!, Improving E-learning in the textile care sector" which is being funded by the EU's ERASMUS + programme.
We in textile services are constantly looking to improve and innovate with respect to our inherently Circular Business model in line with the goals of the EU Green Deal as well as the EU Skill's Agenda.
In this spirit on 6 May, EU Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, Nicholas Schmit spoke on the importance of ERASMUS+ in helping the labor market adapt to the dynamic and digital changes occurring in our 21st century economy. Mr Schmit said: "Our societies are going through deep transformations, businesses will change, and jobs will change, and skill sets required on the labor market will change.....The world of work is becoming more digital." Indeed, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the need for digital learning and distance learning, even as jobs in the textile care sector continue to evolve and the duties of workers change. These EU priorities and realities show why Educate! is such a relevant and important project.
The Educate! project consists of a digital platform learning platform which will be accessible to textile care workers. Individuals will have access to learning modules and tutorials as well as interactive explanatory videos, on the subject of the basics of textile care, maintenance and machine use as well as tutorials on self-care, worker health and safety.
Currently the platform is in the final stages of testing and development and the partners are ready to showcase the project to their members and interested parties alike. The first partner who will present the project will be Daniel Kärrholt, who will present on the 20th of May at the Swedish's Textile Care Association's Annual Meeting Conference of 2021 where. The event will take place at 10 am on 20 May, with many events taking place in English. The showcasing of Educate! will take place beginning from 14:30. You can follow the whole Conference live through this viemo link no registration is required. ETSA will host its webinar showcasing Educate! and its role in the project more broadly on 8 July. Stay tuned for more updates on registration and the logistics of this webinar! We are looking forward to seeing you there!
