PPE - developing EU standards on care and maintenance

ETSA is following the work of a CEN programming mandate on protective textiles (M/509). Two of the four groups concern textile services: comfort and ergonomics (TG3) and total cost of ownership and proper selection, use, care and maintenance (TG4). TG4 stresses the need for PPE to be "fit for purpose". Cheap is not necessarily best. It recognizes the impact of proper laundry and use conditions. It recommends developing a standard on maintenance, repair and disposal of PPE.
