NACE - how to classify textile services as an economic activity

Eurostat is currently reviewing the classification categories for economic activities (NACE Nomenclature or NACE Code). Different national views have been expressed about how textiles services should be classified. Up to now textile services fall into either category 77 (Rental and leasing activities) or 96 (Other personal service activities). Alternative homes of textiles services could also be manufacturing (34) or business support services (81, 82). ETSA is consulting member firms and national associations to try to agree on a common industry position at European level. Which would then be submitted to Eurostat.
