ETSA Tackles a litany of consultations in the first semester!

In 2023, the textile and textile services industry in Europe experienced a transformative year, as over 16 crucial pieces of legislation and other vital initiatives were advanced on the European level within an 18-month period. To effectively navigate this changing landscape, the ETSA Board took a proactive approach and established the "Lobbying Steering Group." This group was formed to aid ETSA in its lobbying efforts, offering valuable industry perspectives from diverse sources within the ETSA membership. The steering group has proven to be an essential addition to ETSA's working groups, and we express our heartfelt gratitude to all the members for their unwavering support.

Throughout the period from January to July 2023, ETSA actively participated in a series of consultations with the European Commission. The invaluable assistance of our working group enabled us to address critical topics, including the Eco-Design for Sustainable Products, Right to Repair, Green Claims, EU Climate Goals for 2040, Revision of the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive,  and the EU Taxonomy.  If you'd like to view and read these communications, as well as other public communications ETSA has produced on paramount topics of relevant policy, you can access them here.

ETSA extends its appreciation to all its members for their insightful perspectives, unwavering support, and valuable contributions in representing the Textile Service Industry while engaging with the Commission. As we move forward, there are still several significant consultations ahead, but we are proud of the progress and achievements we have made so far.
