ETSA Strengthens its pledge to the United Nations Global Compact in 2023
On 5 October, ETSA, exemplifying its dedication to ethical practices, set a commendable example by submitting its latest communication to the United Nations Global Compact for 2023. Notably, this year's submission is enhanced by a supportive letter from ETSA Chairman, Dr. Thomas Neyers. This gesture underscores both ETSA's and its members' steadfast allegiance to the principles and aspirations of the Compact. The UN Global Compact, celebrated for its foundational pillars - human rights (corporate social responsibility), labour, environment, and anti-corruption, offers a prime platform for industries to manifest their commitment to sustainability. ETSA's continuous engagement not only emphasizes the association's collective resolve but also brings to light the individual efforts of its members in championing sustainable practices.
In preparation for this remarkable submission, ETSA members, especially the Communication Steering Group, collaborated closely with the ETSA Secretariat to showcase some of their best practices. The discussions this year spanned a wide range of sustainable initiatives.
In the wake of numerous global summits and conferences, the significance of collaborative endeavors within the context of the United Nations Global Compact has become paramount. Such initiatives highlight the need for collective efforts from both the public and private sectors, particularly in urgent domains like climate change.
It's worth highlighting that ETSA remains fervently dedicated to making a tangible impact, both within the United Nations Global Compact and as a European Commission Climate Pact Ambassador. While the association recognizes the challenges that lie ahead, it is bolstered by the significant progress made by its members annually. The supportive letter from Dr. Neyers can be found at the bottom of this page.
