ETSA PPE Working Group Gathers Momentum in Thalhausen
ETSA recently marked a significant milestone in its ongoing commitment to enhancing the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and workwear sectors. Hosted by HB Protective Wear GmbH & Co. KG in Thalhausen Germany, the two-day event on November 13-14 brought together diverse members from laundries and suppliers within the ETSA network. The meeting, expertly led by Sven Holst and Heidi-Maria Viik-Schäfer, served as a platform for collaborative discussion, focusing on growth and sustainability in these vital sectors.
Central to the event were themes surrounding the future of PPE and workwear, particularly in the context of the European Union's broader environmental goals. Discussions were aimed at aligning the industry's efforts with the EU Climate Pact and the EU Green Deal, reflecting ETSA's role as a Climate Pact Ambassador. This alignment underscores the industry's commitment to sustainable practices, balancing the need for durable, effective protective clothing with environmental stewardship. Contributions from prominent figures, including representatives from Bardusch and TenCate Protective Fabrics Europe, enriched the conversation with varied perspectives and insights.
As the event concluded, plans were set in motion for future collaborations and meetings, with the next session scheduled to be hosted at the TenCate Protective Fabrics Europe headquarters in the Netherlands. This gathering highlighted the collective resolve of ETSA members to push the boundaries of innovation and sustainability in the PPE and workwear sectors. While specific actions and detailed discussions remain internal to the working group, the event's overarching themes reflect a dynamic industry ready to embrace change and lead with responsibility.
