New high-visibility standard brings big changes

ISO 20471 was approved on 29 January 2013. The standard now addresses only high-risk situations. It is more stringent than the former EN 471. 'High-visibility' vests will no longer be class 3. It will be difficult for 'high-visibility' trousers to qualify for more than class 1. Water vapour resistance is now back in the standard. Many issues resulting from the revision still need to be clarified.
